HEART WEEK is Australia’s national heart health awareness week held in May each year (5-12th May 2025) . It provides an opportunity for all Australians to start a conversation about heart health with their loves ones and take positive steps to reduce their heart disease risk.

What should you expect in your Heart Health Check?
Your nurse will check your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
A discussion about your history and lifestyle eg diet, Physical activity levels, smoking , alcohol intake, medical and family history etc . An ECG will also be done. Next, your GP uses the information gathered to assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years.
If needed, your GP or nurse will organise further tests.
How much does a Heart Health Check cost?
Completely BULK BILLED for the month of May inc ECG ( usually $20 )
BULK BILLED Echocardiograms & Holter service available inhouse at Lilydale Doctors ( provided by Heart of Melbourne )
