Lilydale Doctors offers a comprehensive adult ADHD assessment service at our clinic in Lilydale, led by our team of psychologists and a specialist psychiatrist.
How the assessment works
- See your GP. A referral is required to see our psychologist and psychiatrist. Your GP can arrange a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral.
- Psychologist assessment. You will first be seen by one of our psychologists for a detailed assessment under your Mental Health Treatment Plan.
- Psychiatrist review. Our consultant psychiatrist, Dr Abhijit Bidwai, then reviews your assessment to confirm the diagnosis and plan ongoing management.
Consultation Fees and Ongoing Monitoring
Once your ADHD diagnosis has been confirmed by a psychiatrist and your GP has been authorised to continue your treatment, you can see your GP for ongoing medication reviews and prescriptions.
A $100 out-of-pocket fee applies to these GP consultations, after the applicable Medicare rebate (relevant MBS item).
Ongoing Monitoring
To ensure your treatment remains safe and effective, regular monitoring is required. This includes:
- Annual blood tests and ECG, as clinically indicated.
- Regular health observations, including blood pressure, pulse and weight.
- Urine drug screening, where required.
Additional monitoring may be recommended based on your medication and individual health needs.

Waiting times are relatively short, with appointments usually available within 2–4 weeks.
