Ongoing Monitoring

Patients using performance-enhancing drugs are often monitored every 3–6 months, depending on risk factors and test results.

Monitoring may include:

• repeat blood tests
• blood pressure checks
• discussion of symptoms
• cardiovascular risk management

Blood tests and investigations

Depending on your situation, your doctor may recommend tests such as:

• full blood count
• liver and kidney function
• cholesterol profile
• blood sugar
• hormone testing (testosterone, LH, FSH)
• cardiovascular risk assessment

These tests help monitor changes that can occur with steroid or hormone use.

Confidential care

All consultations are completely confidential, just like any other medical appointment.

We understand that many people hesitate to discuss steroid use with doctors. Our clinic provides a private and respectful environment to discuss your health.

Can you prescribe anabolic steroids?

No.

Our doctors do not prescribe anabolic steroids for bodybuilding or performance purposes.

These medications are approved only for specific medical conditions and are not recommended for performance or aesthetic enhancement.

Our role is to provide medical monitoring and health advice.

Can you help if I want to stop steroids?

Yes.

Doctors can provide support for people who wish to stop using performance-enhancing drugs, including:

• health monitoring
• managing symptoms after stopping
• hormone testing
• referral where required

What happens during a consultation

Your doctor may discuss:

• substances or supplements being used
• training goals and medical history
• symptoms such as fatigue, libido changes or mood issues
• cardiovascular risk factors
• fertility plans

We may also perform:

• blood pressure check
• health assessment
• pathology testing

Our approach

Our doctors take a professional, confidential and non-judgemental approach.

We understand that some people are:

• currently using performance-enhancing drugs
• considering using them
• trying to stop
• worried about health effects

Medical harm-reduction approaches allow doctors to work with patients even if they are not ready to stop using these substances.

Our focus is health protection and evidence-based care.

Why medical monitoring is important

Non-prescribed steroid use can affect several parts of the body including:

• Heart and cholesterol levels
• Hormone production
• Liver function
• Blood pressure
• Fertility
• Mental health

Long-term use at high doses has been associated with cardiovascular disease, liver injury and other health problems.

Early monitoring allows doctors to detect issues before they become serious.

What are performance-enhancing drugs?

Performance and image-enhancing drugs (PIEDs) include substances used to improve muscle size, strength or physical appearance. These commonly include anabolic steroids, testosterone derivatives, SARMs and peptide-based compounds.   Many of these drugs are obtained outside medical care and may be used in high doses or combinations.

Aftercare for Polynucleotide Skin Rejuvenation?

Following treatment, we recommend:  Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours  Avoid excessive heat (saunas, steam rooms) for 24–48 hours  Avoid alcohol for 24 hours  Avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas unless advised

Mild redness, swelling or small injection marks are common and usually settle within a few days.

Is this treatment suitable for mature skin?

Polynucleotide skin rejuvenation is commonly chosen by patients with early to moderate signs of ageing who wish to improve skin quality, hydration and texture without altering facial structure.

Suitability is assessed individually.

Can I get lip volume enhancement procedure without getting duck lips?

Yes. When performed appropriately, these procedures are designed to enhance shape, balance, and hydration — not to create an overfilled or unnatural appearance.

Procedure is tailored to your facial anatomy and goals, and a conservative approach is often recommended, particularly for first-time patients. Your clinician will discuss realistic outcomes and help you decide what is right for you.

What’s the difference between wrinkle treatments and volume enhancement treatments?

Wrinkle treatments are used to soften lines caused by repeated facial movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

Volume enhancement treatments are designed to restore or replace lost facial volume using dermal fillers. They are commonly used to improve facial contours, support areas of volume loss, or enhance specific features.

These treatments work in different ways and address different concerns. In some patients, they may be used together as part of a tailored treatment plan.

Will my face look ‘frozen’?

Our doctors aim for a conservative, individualised approach based on facial anatomy and patient preferences. During consultation, expectations, suitability, and potential outcomes are discussed so that patients can make informed decisions. Results and appearance can vary between individuals but the goal is to achieve a natural, refreshed appearance, not a frozen look.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime can vary depending on the individual and the type of procedure discussed. This is reviewed during consultation. You can return to most normal activities straight away. Some people may experience slight redness or swelling at the injection site, which usually resolves within a few hours.

Does the procedure hurt?

Comfort levels vary between individuals. During consultation, your doctor will explain what to expect, discuss comfort measures where appropriate, and answer any questions before proceeding. The procedures are generally well tolerated.

When will I see results?

The timing of any noticeable changes can vary between individuals and depends on several clinical factors. Expected outcomes and variability are discussed during consultation where clinically appropriate. You may usually begin to see results within 2–5 days, but the full effect takes up to 2 weeks.

How long do the results last?

Outcomes and their duration vary between individuals. Your doctor will discuss expected variability and factors that may influence outcomes during consultation.Typically, results last 3 to 4 months, but this can vary between individuals. Regular use can help maintain smoother skin over time.

What happens during wrinkle reduction consultations?

We provide wrinkle reduction consultations for patients concerned about facial lines and related concerns. Specific medical or procedural options are discussed only after individual clinical assessment and where clinically appropriate. Consultations are based on use of purified proteins to relax targeted facial muscles which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, especially in areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Private charges applicable for the consultation appointment.

Post-Procedure Care Instructions

What is the process of getting a mole removed?

  • Book a mole check appointment – you can have your mole examined by our doctor. Dependant on the type / size pf mole / skin lesion it may / may not be removed at the same consultation.
