Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been recognised as safe by the FDA, with the only precaution being to avoid direct exposure to the eyes.
For over 30 years, LLLT has been widely accepted in countries such as the USA, Canada, Brazil, across Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, and Japan. During this time, there have been no reports of long-term harmful effects. The therapy is considered non-invasive, painless, and safe.
Unlike other forms of radiation, LLLT is non-toxic, non-thermal, and supports tissue health rather than damaging it. Research shows that it can accelerate healing, reduce muscle fatigue and damage, and lessen delayed onset muscle soreness.
Adverse effects are uncommon. Occasionally, patients may notice a mild ache or discomfort following treatment. This is usually due to temporary reactivation of the body’s inflammatory response and generally resolves within 24–48 hours.
